The Genesis Meditations: a Celebration of Hope, with Jilani Cordelia Prescott

Retreat teachings in English and French, with live music, chant and body prayer (DUP)

Based on the work of Neil Douglas-Klotz (Saadi)

‘By experiencing the creation story as our own personal story, we have the same opportunity to re-create and renew ourselves, as our ancestors did, and to find a deeper connection with the divine in our everyday lives.’

‘I believe that the actual practice of this meditation… cultivates a sense of wholeness as opposed to separation. It can build a bridge of peace between the three religions of the Middle East. It can affirm a radically different view of life in a world that looks to save its ecosystem and rediscover an authentic connection to the sacred…Nothing less than a vision of what it means to be fully human.’

(Neil Douglas-Klotz)

Jilani is a musician, a Guide within the Sufi Ruhaniat International, and a mentor with the Dances of Universal Peace.

Neil Douglas-Klotz (www.abwoon.org) has published many books and created several cycles of body-prayer/music/meditations, in his work with fundamental sacred texts in Hebrew, Aramaic and Arabic.

Jilani trained with him from 2007 -2010 and since then has travelled widely, sharing his inspirational work with a world-wide audience, with his ongoing guidance and support. When she is not travelling, she lives in the UK with her husband, their elderly cat and four chickens. They have three adult sons.

Practical Information

Arrivals from 3 pm on Friday, departures after 4 pm on Sunday.

The retreat fee is €150.

It’s possible to stay onsite, either in the gite (twin bedrooms or a mezzanine with three beds) or camping.

Pay as you feel for lodging. Thank you for bringing your own toiletries and bedding: sheets, pillow cases and duvet cover.

For the meals there are several possibilities: for at least 10 people, we can ask a local cook to prepare food for around €21 per day, to include lunch and dinner. And for those who prefer, we can each prepare our dishes and share food together potluck style.

The venue is nestled in a stunning valley near the ancient small town of Die. There is a beautiful group room with a polished wooden floor, and a shared kitchen/dining room. When the weather is fine we will eat outdoors – even in October the sun can be warm.
