These dances could be called body prayers: simple, gentle yet powerful movements with chants drawn from many world traditions, all celebrating Unity. Moving, chanting and breathing in rhythm together we begin to harmonise ourselves as individuals and as a group. Our bodies and hearts can realign with the rhythm of our souls. The results can be wonderful: we may experience sensations of peace and joy, heart-opening connections with others and a sense of oneness with all-that-is.
Everything is taught as we go along, so anyone can join.
Saturday 11th November Time: 3.00pm – 5.00pm
If you’d like to join us for a shared meal afterwards, please bring a contribution of something delicious to share.

The Beatitude Way: on the path of healing and ripeness. Healing through the spiral journey of the Breath.
Many of us are familiar with the Beatitudes as teachings of Jesus, in the beautiful words of the vernacular Bible. But what do phrases like ‘Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they shall be called the Children of God‘ really mean? What does it mean to be Poor in Spirit, for example? To deepen our understanding it can be helpful to see Jesus (or Yeshua, to give him his Aramaic name) as rooted in the mystical traditions of the Middle East, and to study his words in his native language of Aramaic.
Using practices that would have been very familiar to Jesus and his contemporaries, such as chanting, simple movements (body prayers), meditation, breath practices and silence, as well as opportunities for discussion, we will explore in depth and spaciousness the Aramaic words of Jesus, and the powerful healing journey of the Beatitudes. This cycle of dances and chants offers an opportunity for deep spiritual and psychological growth and understanding, a continuous spiral path of practical help with everyday life which is as relevant today as when Jesus first spoke these words of power.
The workshop is based on the work of Neil Douglas-Klotz, and we will learn and practice the phrases in Aramaic, as well as hearing the expanded translations given by Neil, which can shed much light on how we understand the words of Jesus. The phrases are set to simple chants, with simple movements or body prayers, which help to intensify our experience and embody our understanding.
The workshop will be led by Jilani Cordelia Prescott, an accomplished group leader with more than twenty five years experience as a teacher and musician. She studied with Neil Douglas-Klotz from 2007-2010, and continues to learn from him informally. She has shared the Aramaic work of Neil Douglas-Klotz widely in France and Spain, since 2010. A retreat with Jilani Cordelia is always an invitation to journey deeply, profoundly supported and safely held in the healing atmosphere she offers through the beauty and spiritual quality of her singing and playing. Her relaxed and patient teaching style means people easily learn the words, chants and movements, and can be free to enter the powerful and healing depths of the experience.

This beautiful pilgrimage will take us to Istanbul, Yalova, Cappadocia and Konya. It includes the Middle East Dance Leader Training Camp in Yalova from 13-17 September.
The caravan and camp schedule is:
September 11-12: Istanbul (Sacred and historic sites) September 13-17: Yalova (Middle East Training Camp) September 18-20: Cappadocia Region (Nature and Magic) September 20-23: Konya (Local Sufis, Rumi)
We strongly recommend arriving at least 2 or 3 days earlier (on the 8th or 9th) because Istanbul is such a magical city with so many places and adventures available. In the Caravan we will take you to special visits, but a few days of tourism are recommended. We will provide later on, a list of things you can do and the name of our group accommodation (in case you want to stay there when you arrive)
In your light, I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems. You dance inside my chest where no-one sees you, But sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art.
Mevlana Rumi

Come and immerse yourself in the beautiful Welsh countryside and ‘the Sacred Manuscript of Nature, the only book which can enlighten the reader’ (in the words of Hazrat Inayat Khan, the Sufi mystic). Over five days we will live together close to the land and deepen our connection to Mother Earth through many different practices, culminating in a beautiful co-created ceremony to honour and bless the Earth.
In the afternoons there will be training sessions for dance leaders – circles where new or more experienced dancers, dance leaders and musicians can explore the dance leading journey, with guidance and supporting practices held by Jilani, who is a very experienced mentor and trainer of dance leaders.
